Is it possible to heal from remote distances?

The idea that we might be able to heal one another from remote distances is an old one. Myths and legends allude to this power but for the most part they are relegated to the dust bin of myths and legends. In the late 1990’s I was exploring Out of Body phenomena with people on the Voyagers Mailing list, spawned from the work of Robert Monroe and the Monroe Institute in Faber North Virginia.  The Institute offers “excursions” into OBE’s. It was on this mailing list that I met Susan Willis.

Susan would be better apt to tell this tale because she knew the people on the her list intimately and always said she wanted to tell this story. Unfortunately she died in a car wreck February 4th 2005 before she could. So it is left up to me (The Healing Circle's co-founder) to try to explain what I know from my end of this adventure.

The Beginning.

One day on the Voyager’s Mailing List I asked the question “What do you do after you get it that you are ‘more than your physical body’” as the Institute states? Susan and I began to explore that question on the list as well as privately. She started a small list of her own and put me in the loop. We called it the “cc to” list because that’s how it was distributed. On the little “cc to” list we did various exercises in healing remotely with modest success. It was in 2000 that we moved the “cc to” list to what now operates as “The Healing Circle,” Yahoo List. Today the Healing Circle boasts over 130 members. In the earlier days we hovered around 75.

"The Healing Circle" as it stands today emerged from the vision of Susan Willis, and her concept of a new order of medical practice including non-local applications of subtle energy healing as described in the Dr. Larry Dossey book, "Reinventing Medicine".
Susan Willis took the ideas of Dossey and evolved it into a group participation established over the Internet using various methods of managing subtle energy fields to promote all forms of healing processes.

The primary reason why "The Healing Circle" sets itself apart from most circle prayer groups is that it predicates itself on the concept of "healing without dogma". The focus of the group is on the act of healing itself, performed in many diverse ways from many points of view secular and spiritual. When you enter the group you are at once potentially someone to be healed, and someone to heal others. The idea is that if you are the beneficiary of healing, you will learn from that what it takes to heal.

Things that Influence the Healing Circle’s Philosophy.

The processes used within "The Healing Circle" aren't complex or standardized. They are based on individual and personal methods of promoting remote healing. The fundamental precepts of "The Healing Circle" are based on concepts rising out of the work of Dr. Larry Dossey described in his books "Time &; Medicine,” “Beyond Illness,” “Recovering the Soul,” “Meaning and Medicine,” “ Prayer is Good Medicine,” and “Be Careful what You Pray For . . . You Just Might Get It" and his latest book, "Reinventing Medicine".

If you haven't read any of these and you have the money and time please do so. Start with "Reinventing Medicine" as this is the focus of the direction "The Healing Circle" is taking today.

You can be a healer or one who is healed, it doesn’t matter. What matters is if you believe in the principles attested to by Larry Dossey and other remote healing authorities and are willing to come forward and receive the blessings that come with your belief.
